Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi confirmed on June 19 that on Friday, June 20, he will have a meeting in Geneva with colleagues from the European countries — France, Germany and Britain.

"According to Araqchi, the meeting was organized at the request of the European troika," the Mehr news agency notes.

The talks will be attended by German Foreign Ministers Johann Vadefoul, French Foreign Minister Jean—Noel Barrault and British Foreign Minister David Lammy. Araqchi also added that the head of the European Union (EU) diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, will be present at the meeting, IRNA news agency writes.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on June 14 that the Eurotroika, consisting of Britain, France and Germany, did not participate in Israel's military operation against Iran. The politician noted that the European countries are seriously concerned about the situation in the Middle East, although they have long talked about concerns about the Iranian nuclear program.

Israel struck Iran on June 13 and declared a state of emergency. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure.
