GAC announces GS8 Dragon crossover in Russia

On June 19, GAC shared details about the new version of the flagship GS8 Dragon crossover, which was previously reported by Izvestia.

The novelty received a design style inspired by the symbols of the eastern dragon: the updated radiator grille resembles dragon scales, the brand's representative office told Izvestia. Additionally, the front and rear bumpers have been redesigned, and the wheels have received a brand logo fixed when driving, like those of luxury cars. There is also a welcome light animation and a graphic projection on the sides in the style of dragon wings.

The length of the model with the new radiator grille has become 35 mm longer and is 5015 mm, the length and width remained unchanged. In the Russian market, the GS8 Dragon will be available in four colors (black, silver, white and gray), as well as in three interior design options (white, brown and black). Improved noise insulation is promised, and a digital cockpit with two screens and a panoramic glass roof will appear on the equipment list. The price and technical specifications are not specified yet.

The five-meter GAC GS8 is offered on the Russian market in five trim levels at a price of 4.1 million to 4.95 million rubles (excluding benefits and discounts). The model is available with a 231-horsepower two-liter turbo engine and an eight-speed Aisin automatic. The all-wheel drive system is based on the Borg Warner electromagnetic clutch, which independently redistributes the torque between the axles, depending on the traffic situation.

On May 12, it became known that GAC plans to launch the GAC S7 hybrid premium crossover on the Russian market, it is built on a new modular platform created specifically for hybrid and electric models. The length of the novelty is 4900 mm with a wheelbase of 2880 mm. The pure electric power reserve of the single—wheel drive version is 205 km, and the fully autonomous mileage is 1,150 km.
