News created using artificial intelligence (AI) must be explicitly labeled. This was stated on June 19 by Artyom Sheikin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building, at the session "AI in the Modern Media Sphere" at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

"If we do not indicate that this (News — Ed.) was done with the help of artificial intelligence, then sooner or later we will lose the trust of our viewers," the senator said.

Sheikin also suggested introducing clear rules for identifying AI content. For example, the icon "generated by artificial intelligence".

On June 9, it was reported that the Russian government would create an AI Development Center in order to systematize the introduction of technologies in the territory of the state. It was clarified that one of the tasks of the center will be to replicate the best practices that exist in Russia. "Best practices" refers to solutions that have become not only effective, but also safe.
