Putin and Xi Jinping discussed the situation in the Middle East by phone
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the conflict in the Middle East. This was announced on June 19 by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
"I want to note right away that the conversation was friendly and constructive. And this conversation was mainly devoted to discussing the escalated situation in the Middle East," he said at a briefing.
According to him, the parties condemn Israel's actions and advocate exclusively for a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict.
Ushakov noted that following the discussion of the escalation in the Middle East, the heads of state discussed the bilateral agenda. He specified that Putin and Xi Jinping emphasized new important guidelines for strengthening the Russian-Chinese partnership. They also stressed that Moscow and Beijing have been together before and will be together in the future.
Putin and Xi Jinping, among other things, became convinced of the strengthening of their ties in BRICS and other international platforms.
In addition, as Ushakov notes, the leaders of the Russian Federation and China discussed the G7 summit in Canada. It is clarified that, in particular, they pointed to the not very successful departure of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, abroad.
