The Second Western District Military Court sentenced Viktor Mosienko, a director and actor from Novosibirsk, to 17 years in prison for high treason and attempted sabotage. This was reported on June 19 in the press service of the FSB directorate for the Belgorod region.

It is noted that the activities of the defendant were stopped by FSB officers in the region when the man tried to travel to Ukraine to participate in hostilities against the Russian army.

According to the investigation, Mosienko joined a Ukrainian paramilitary organization recognized as a terrorist and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation, and also, on the instructions of Ukrainian curators, intended to sabotage the railroad in the Belgorod region using an improvised explosive device.

A criminal case was investigated against the man under Article 275 ("High treason", Part 2 of Article 205.5 ("Organization of the activities of a terrorist organization and participation in the activities of such an organization"), part 4 of Article 222.1 ("Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation, transfer or carrying of explosives or explosive devices"), Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 281 ("Attempted sabotage") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

On May 15, it was reported that Belgorodian Yuri Yaroshenko was sentenced to 16 years in prison for high treason and preparing a terrorist attack against members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The 48-year-old man was found guilty of several crimes, including under Article 275 of the Criminal Code ("High Treason") and Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code.
