Samvel Karapetyan's lawyer spoke about his positive attitude in jail.

Businessman Samvel Karapetyan is in the Armavir detention center in Armenia. His lawyer Liana Gasparyan told RIA Novosti on June 19 that he has a "positive attitude."

"He is in the Armavir penal institution. My colleagues visited him today. Yesterday, as always, he had a positive attitude for the best," Gasparyan said.

On June 18, Gasparyan announced that the Yerevan court had arrested Karapetyan for two months. She clarified that the businessman's defense intends to challenge the arrest and fight for Karapetyan's rights.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 17 that Russia would provide assistance to Karapetyan, whose house was being searched amid his support for the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC). According to her, the Russian side will "provide him with the necessary assistance so that all his legitimate rights are respected."

Later, Armen Feroyan, Karapetyan's lawyer, told Izvestia that his client had been charged with publicly calling for the seizure of power in Armenia.
