This was announced on June 19 by Alexey Likhachev, head of the Rosatom State Corporation, to journalists on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

Vladimir Demidov, an independent expert on the resources and energy market, also stated in an interview with Izvestia on June 17 that possible Israeli attacks on the Busherskaya NPP could lead to catastrophic consequences comparable to Chernobyl.

According to him, damage to cooling systems, which are one of the most vulnerable parts of nuclear power plants, can lead to a disaster of comparable scale.
