In the Kherson region, the activities of three local residents who organized the illegal sale of counterfeit alcohol on an especially large scale were suppressed. According to the press service of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia for the region on June 19, more than 30 thousand liters of alcohol worth more than 27 million rubles were seized from illicit trafficking.
It was established that the criminal group consisted of local residents born in 1984, 1989 and 1990.
"The suspects organized an interregional channel for the illegal supply of unmarked alcohol—containing products in the territory of the Kherson region for the purpose of subsequent sale," the agency said in a statement.
A criminal case has been initiated under clauses "a" and "b" of Part 6 of Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Illegal trafficking in alcoholic beverages and tobacco products subject to mandatory labeling"). The penalty is up to six years in prison. The secret service establishes all the criminal connections of the defendants.
On May 28, it was reported that in the city of Marx, Saratov region, a 49-year-old man would stand trial for fraud with counterfeit alcohol and tobacco products. The attacker's activity was stopped in April last year. During searches at his home and garage, police found more than 23,000 packs of cigarettes and over 6,000 bottles of alcohol worth about 8 million rubles. 20 accomplices were identified who were engaged in the delivery, loading, accounting and sale of counterfeit goods.
