British Prime Minister Keir Starmer mistakenly mistook an interpreter for South Korean President Lee Jae-myung at the G7 summit. This was reported by the Daily Mail on June 18.

"The Prime Minister (Starmer — Ed.) <...> shook hands with the translator, not Lee Jae-myung, when they met for official talks," the newspaper reported.

After that, as it is specified, Starmer experienced "a few seconds of confusion", not knowing where he should stand for a joint photo.

On June 8, TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson expressed doubt that Starmer is capable of appearing to be a formidable leader. He also noted that he was concerned about the prospect of Starmer remaining as prime minister for another four years.
