- Zakharova reminded the Italian Prime Minister of the UN resolution after her statements about Iran

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on June 19 that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni needed to familiarize herself with the United Nations (UN) resolution of 1965.
This is how Zakharova commented on Meloni's statements about the need to overthrow the government in Iran through the efforts of the "oppressed Iranian people."
"Someone tell the head of the Italian government that on December 21, 1965, by 109 votes with one abstention from Britain, the UN General Assembly adopted resolution 2131 entitled "Declaration on the Inadmissibility of Interference in the Internal Affairs of states, on protecting their Independence and Sovereignty," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.
In the Izvestia studio on June 18, as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025), Zakharova said that the conflict between Iran and Israel is a threat to the whole world. She noted that attacks on Tehran's nuclear facilities put all problems on the back burner.
