Israel has launched its third wave of attacks on Iran in a day, targeting missile sites in the west of the country. This was announced on Wednesday, June 18, by the official representative of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Brigadier General Efi Defrin.

"The third wave of strikes began some time ago and is focused on the western part of Iran. Planes of the Israeli Air Force (IAF) are flying over launchers and warehouses with surface–to—surface missiles," he said at a briefing.

According to him, the purpose of the fighters are fighters trying to re-gain access to previously hit targets and extract ammunition from there.

On June 18, more than 50 IDF fighter jets attacked a number of military targets in the Tehran area, including a facility for the production of centrifuges for uranium enrichment.

Israel struck Iran on June 13 and declared a state of emergency in the country. At that time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu noted that the purpose of the military operation was to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. In response, the Islamic Republic launched several waves of missile attacks.
