The strategy for the development of transport infrastructure until 2035 will be adjusted and expanded to the planning horizon until 2050. This decision was made at the strategic session of the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. Roman Starovoit, Minister of Transport, spoke about this in an exclusive interview with Izvestia at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).
"Given the changes that are taking place in the world today, we need to adjust our plans. A decision has been made on the need to adjust the strategy and expand the planning horizon until 2050," Roman Starovoit said.
According to him, new technologies, digitalization, and unmanned vehicles were discussed in detail at the strategic session. Everything that exists in the world today, and Russia is confidently among the three leaders in the implementation of these new technologies, including transport, the head of the Ministry of Transport noted.
"It is planned to build and reconstruct 75 airport terminals by 2030, and four new ones have already been commissioned this year. Unmanned cargo transport is actively developing on the M-11 and TsKAD expressways," the minister added.
