Aurus may launch open sales of the Arsenal minivan in 2026

The Russian luxury car brand Aurus is exploring the possibility of launching commercial sales of large Arsenal minivans, which are currently used only in the government's special purpose garage. The degree of readiness of the model allows us to count on the start of sales as early as 2026. An Aurus representative told the Izvestia correspondent about this on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).

A modification of the six-meter Aurus Arsenal, close to the one that is being prepared for sale, was presented at the brand's booth at the SPIEF. According to a brand representative, the price of such a car will be higher than that of the Senat sedan and Komendant crossover, which currently cost about 50 million rubles.

Also at the SPIEF, Aurus for the first time demonstrated the Komendant crossover, which is armored according to the Br4 protection classification. This is the second booking level after the maximum Br5 (according to the Russian classification), explained the representative of the brand. The model also received a reinforced suspension with brakes and a number of other improvements, including Russian Kama tires specially designed for it, which allow it to travel about 60 km after serious tire damage.

The production of such a machine has been established at FSUE NAMI, the order execution period for it is up to 10 months, orders for it are already being accepted. Aurus believes that both the Arsenal and the armored Komendant, due to their weight, will go beyond the limits available to drivers with category B licenses (they allow them to drive cars weighing up to 3.5 tons). All models of the brand are equipped with their own 4.4-liter V8 engine (598 hp) with two turbochargers and an electric motor (62 hp).
