- South Sudan expressed a desire to find partners in the field of digitalization at the SPIEF

South Sudan intends to develop cooperation with other countries in the field of digital transformation. Thomas Gatkuot Nyack, Deputy Secretary of State and Minister of Information, Communications, Technology and Postal Services, told Izvestia on June 18 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025).
"We came here to collaborate with our colleagues to launch things like digital transformation and all developments related to digital transformation," he said.
Matiok Santino Akway, Deputy Minister of Mining of South Sudan, added that the country is also interested in developing cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources. According to him, the Sudanese delegation will discuss global transformations, green energy and the transition from fossil fuels at the SPIEF.
Earlier that day, during the Russia-Kazakhstan business dialogue at the SPIEF, the country's ambassador to the Russian Federation said that the republic was considering the possibility of working with Russia to develop critically important raw materials, including rare earth metals. The diplomat also expressed confidence in the potential for mutually beneficial development of these resources with the participation of companies from the two countries.
