Kostroma Region signed the first agreements at the St. Petersburg Forum

A new timber processing plant and a multifunctional road complex will be built in the region.

More than 150 new high-performance jobs and more than a hundred million additional budget revenues will be brought to the Kostroma Region by investment agreements signed on the first day of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg. The region will provide companies with the most—favored-nation treatment. As a result, new enterprises will be supported in solving issues of technical connection to infrastructure and tax benefits.

"We have assumed obligations to partially reimburse expenses for the construction of communications. The logic here is simple: The investor invests in his own production — buys equipment, builds a building, and trains employees. Our job is to make sure that they start working as soon as possible. Production will start operating this year," Sergey Sitnikov commented on the prospects for the construction of a timber processing plant.

The projects are important for the region. The construction of a timber processing plant is already expected in the north-east of the region. Experts are already predicting a significant economic recovery in one of the most economically challenging areas of the region. During the period of the project implementation, the volume of investments in the fixed assets of the Sharyinsky district will increase by more than 3 times. When the enterprise reaches full capacity, veneer production in the region will increase by more than 20%. "

By the middle of August, our main staff will be recruited," said Alexey Zinchenko, Director of VetlugaFanProm LLC, who signed an agreement with the region for the construction of the plant. The multifunctional road service area will improve the quality of service for Kostroma residents and city guests traveling on long-distance trips. The complex will be organized at the entrance to the regional center from the federal highway M-8 "Kholmogory". Everything will be provided for the convenience of people — a motel for comfortable rest for drivers of cars and trucks, a gas station, a car repair shop, a single service center with playgrounds and sports grounds, etc. "The project is very important for the region. After the transfer of the Kostroma—Kirov-Perm highway to federal ownership, Kostroma united three federal highways — the Ivanovo—Vladimir—Nizhny Novgorod, Yaroslavl—Moscow and Kostroma—Kirov-Perm roads. Traffic is increasing, and we need to create a completely new type of roadside services. One of these services, where there will be a means of accommodating people and transport, catering, household issues, refueling, and will be formed at the entrance to Kostroma," Sergey Sitnikov emphasized.

The total investment volume of the first day of the forum for the region is about 1 billion rubles.
