On the sidelines of the SPIEF, the Moscow Government and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at jointly solving the problem of introducing artificial intelligence in the field of urban planning. This was stated by Vladimir Yefimov, Minister of the Moscow Government, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning and Construction.
"The introduction of artificial intelligence in urban planning helps to optimize processes, improve the quality and transparency of work in this area. This is part of a massive transformation of the construction industry. The implementation of this agreement will make it possible to introduce artificial intelligence technologies into urban planning processes and the provision of construction services. Joint work with Skoltech will strengthen the scientific and technical potential of the capital and ensure its sustainable development through the integration of education, science and urban planning practices," Yefimov explained.
Since 2024, the Moscow Department of Urban Planning Policy has been operating an Artificial Intelligence Center in the field of urban planning, which will play the most significant role in achieving this goal. The main task of the Center is to analyze the needs of both participants in the construction market and residents of the city, as well as the creation and implementation of modern digital solutions. At the moment, the Center's experts have developed six digital services aimed at improving the efficiency of construction processes.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the city is implementing about 100 projects using artificial intelligence (AI) in transport, healthcare, education, construction and other areas of urban economy.
