Zakharova recalled Pashinyan's calls for businesses to invest in Armenia

In 2019, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan offered international businesses to invest in the country. This was stated on the sidelines of SPIEF 2025 on June 18 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commenting on the persecution of Russian businessman Samvel Karapetyan in Armenia.
At the same time, she recalled, Pashinyan is now advocating the nationalization of the Electric Grid of Armenia company, which belongs to Karapetyan.
"We invite international businesses to invest in Armenia," Pashinyan said...> make Armenia richer," Zakharova said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The day before, it was reported that Karapetyan was being tried to be detained for speaking out in support of the Armenian Apostolic Church (ACC). Later, Armen Feroyan, the businessman's lawyer, told Izvestia that his client had been charged with publicly calling for the seizure of power in Armenia.
An official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry said on the same day that Russia would provide assistance to Karapetyan, whose house was being searched.
