The parents of the deceased Izvestia correspondent Alexander Martemyanov were given the Order of Courage. The footage is published by Izvestia on June 18.

"By decree of the President of the Russian Federation on awarding state awards of the Russian Federation: for courage and bravery, dedication shown in the performance of professional duty, award the Order of Courage to Alexander Sergeevich Martemyanov, correspondent of the multimedia information center Izvestia, posthumously," Vladimir Tyulin, Director General of the Izvestia News Center, read out the presidential decree when handing over the award to the journalist's parents.

Tyulin also stressed that the correspondent was a brave man, and also raised the profession of a journalist to a new level.

"This award is a high assessment of my son as a professional correspondent, as a man of courage, a man with a big heart. I would like to thank everyone who appreciated his work at Izvestia. I also want to thank his colleagues and friends," said Sergey Martemyanov, the journalist's father.

On January 24, Russian leader Vladimir Putin posthumously awarded the Order of Courage to Izvestia correspondent Martemyanov.

Alexander Martemyanov died on January 4 when a drone of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) hit a car on the Donetsk–Horlivka highway. He died from his injuries. The correspondent was buried in Donetsk on January 8.
