The key element in the layout of the living room in a studio apartment is the color palette. Natalia Vedenova, art director of the Dyatkovo Design furniture brand, told Izvestia on June 21 about how to approach the layout of a small apartment.

The specialist recommends choosing light shades — milky white, gray, sand or pastel tones - that blur the boundaries and add depth to the room. An accent wall with textured wallpaper or delicate pattern will add character to the interior without disturbing the harmony.

"When zoning a narrow room, it is effective to divide the space into squares using color, textiles or lighting. Curtains or a screen will help separate the sleeping area, and shelving will not only delimit the space, but also provide additional storage space," Vedenova added.

Specialists who evaluate home decoration will be required to have a specialized education — why do developers and buyers need it?

The choice of furniture, she says, also requires special attention. Contrary to stereotypes, a large, light-colored sofa with legs can look lighter than compact models. It is important to leave a small gap between the furniture and the wall — this will create an airy effect. Low pieces of furniture with clear lines will complement the composition, and vertical accents in the form of paintings, floor lamps or tall vases will balance the proportions.

According to the expert, sofas with a lifting mechanism, poufs with compartments and built-in wardrobes around doorways are ideal for storing things. The window area can also be used by placing narrow shelves or shelves for books and decor there.

The finishing touch is thoughtful accessories. Instead of many small details, it is better to choose several expressive elements: a mirror for visual expansion of the space, a stylish chandelier or cabinets with glass facades and lighting.

"The things that are able to emphasize style and at the same time are useful are especially attractive. Let it be, for example, an original chandelier, a large mirror that visually expands the space, cabinets with glass facades equipped with built—in lighting with different brightness modes," notes Vedenova.

Analysts of the Yandex Rent service reported on June 4 that since the beginning of the year, all million-plus cities have shown an 8% reduction in the cost of rental housing.
