In Russia, more than a third of consumers prefer domestic cosmetics, so the production of such Russian products is growing. This was announced to Izvestia on June 18 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by Anna Dycheva-Smirnova, Chairman of the organizing committee of the InterCHARM exhibition, member of the Board of the Russian Perfumery and Cosmetics Association.

"More than a third of Russians consciously choose only domestic cosmetics. They are looking for brands that are produced even in the region in which they live. And this is very important," said Dycheva-Smirnova.

In addition, she noted that the development of this industry could take 20 years, but in Russia, success was achieved in just three years. According to her, cosmetics production continues to grow. Now there are almost half a million representatives of small and medium-sized businesses in this area, and new brands are emerging.

Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the importance of SPIEF for Russia and foreign partners at a meeting on economic issues. In addition, he also stressed that the main task of the Russian Federation is to improve the quality of life of people, improve the appearance of cities and towns, as well as the development of healthcare and education systems.
