The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is becoming increasingly important for Russia and its foreign partners. This was announced on June 18 by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting on economic issues.

"The forum opened in St. Petersburg today. Traditionally, it is becoming more and more important for our country and for our partners from abroad," Putin said.

The Russian leader also stated that the main task of the Russian Federation is to improve the quality of life of people, improve the appearance of cities and towns, as well as the development of healthcare and education systems.

The President noted that in order to maximize the effectiveness of efforts to improve people's lives, it is necessary to constantly monitor macroeconomic trends within the country, take into account external challenges and the situation on world markets.

On the eve of the Russian leader's aide Yuri Ushakov said that Putin's schedule for SPIEF 2025 would be busy, with politicians from almost 50 countries expected to attend the important event this year. Ushakov also noted that this year's 28th forum will be held under the motto "Common values are the foundation for growth in a multipolar world."

Prior to that, on June 9, the Russian leader sent greetings to the SPIEF 2025 participants. In his address, the President stressed the importance of the forum as an authoritative international platform bringing together politicians, representatives of business, scientific and expert circles from many countries.
