Mikhail Polynkov, the author of the Telegram channel, was detained in Moscow.

In Moscow, the police detained the author of the Telegram channel "Soldatskaya Pravda" Mikhail Polynkov. The footage of the arrest on June 18 is available to Izvestia.
As the source of Izvestia notes, the Telegram channel was created for the sake of allegedly searching for missing special operation soldiers. Polinkov is a supporter of former Defense Minister of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Igor Girkin (Igor Strelkov). The author was convicted of unauthorized abandonment of a military unit in December 2023. A criminal case has been opened against him, and Polynkov faces 5 to 10 years in prison for desertion.
According to a source familiar with the situation, in his Telegram channel, the supporter called on the relatives of the participants to transfer their data to organize the work. As a result, the data of more than 250 people was published, which is often used for fraudulent purposes.
The source clarified that the former military man was collecting money for the alleged work of a "volunteer project," but he did not provide any expense reports.
In addition, on the Telegram channel, the deserter published videos discrediting the leadership of the Russian Federation, which were later used by the Ukrainian media.
On June 11, it was reported that employees of the Russian FSB directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol had stopped the activities of a group of people suspected of fraud in obtaining benefits for members of the SVO. It is specified that they persuaded citizens to conclude contracts and demanded to transfer money allegedly as a bribe for processing documents on unfitness for service. A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed on an especially large scale").
