The share of those who chose the Unified State Exam in natural science subjects increased significantly in 2025

In 2025, the number of exam takers in natural science subjects increased. The head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor) told about this on June 18 at the Izvestia studio within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2025) Anzor Muzaev.

According to the head of Rosobrnadzor, the year 2025 was successful due to the fact that the issue of natural science subjects was resolved: chemistry, biology, physics. According to statistics, they used to be taken less frequently and with lower results.

"Engineering sciences and engineering personnel are currently the most necessary task for the economy in higher and general education. So, the success of this year is that in all natural science subjects we have received a significant increase in the number of exam participants. They didn't just show up — they came for exams. And they didn't just come for the exam, they passed," Muzaev said.

Reserve days for exams begin this week, but the head of Rosobrnadzor noted that most graduates will not need them.

"The vast majority of graduates will not participate in further reserve days. And based on these statistics, we can already draw fairly confident conclusions about the average scores and the number of participants, which we like to discuss as exam results," he said.

On June 6, Rosobrnadzor announced a high level of the Unified State Exam. Muzayev noted that this year's Unified State Exam is held in accordance with the regular regime, there were no leaks of materials and no violations of human rights.
