Khimki Football Club suspended its activities


The Khimki Football Club has suspended its activities. This was announced on June 18 by the press service on the team's website.
"A difficult decision has been made to suspend the activities of the Khimki football club in its current form," the statement said.
The statement also expressed gratitude to the players, coaches, staff, fans and partners of the football club.
The Moscow Region club was founded in 1997. Khimki were two-time finalists of the Russian Cup, in 2006, as well as in 2023-2024, they won the second strongest division of the national championship.
On May 30, RFU General Secretary Maxim Mitrofanov said that the Russian Football Union (RFU) had not issued a license to Khimki to participate in the Russian Premier League (RPL) in the 2025/26 season due to overdue accounts payable and lack of guarantees of regular financing.
