Pianist Alfred Brendel has died at the age of 94.

Renowned Austrian pianist Alfred Brendel has died at the age of 94. This was reported on June 17 by The Guardian newspaper.
"The famous pianist and writer Alfred Brendel has died at the age of 94 at his home in London," the article says.
Brendel was born on January 5, 1931. He was very passionate about music and played the piano and painted in his spare time. Despite his passion, he never received a systematic musical education and was mostly self-taught. However, Brendel was the first pianist to record all of Beethoven's piano works during his illustrious 60-year career.
In 2002, he was awarded the Robert Schuman Prize, and later the Ernst Siemens Prize.
In addition, as The Guardian notes, Brendel's colleagues call him a "piano mentor" because he devoted a lot of time to sharing his experience with his students.
