Buildings and school territories will be renovated in 10 districts of Moscow


The second stage of school modernization has started in Moscow, said Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. The work will take place in 10 districts of the capital.
All educational institutions included in the My School program will be brought to a single standard, Sobyanin stressed. "We are updating not only the buildings, but also the environment in which children study," the mayor of Moscow wrote in his Telegram channel.
Facades, roofs, engineering systems will be updated in schools, furniture, appliances and lighting will be replaced. Modern specialized classrooms, gyms, media libraries, and spaces for creativity and recreation are also being equipped.
In addition, school grounds and sports grounds will be renovated. Modern playgrounds will be installed for primary school students.
The second stage of school modernization is expected to be completed in 2026. In total, about 700 buildings are planned to be renovated under the My School program.
Earlier, Sobyanin announced plans to complete the modernization of 100 schools in 2026, the renovation of which has already begun. A total of 51 renovated buildings will be opened by September 1 this year as part of the first stage of modernization.
