According to the results of the first quarter of this year, exports of food products produced in Moscow increased by 18% compared to the same period last year. Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government and Head of the Investment and Industrial Policy Department, spoke about this at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

The main increase is due to supplies to Asian countries, primarily to China. "On behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, we are building a systematic effort to increase the export potential of the non-resource sector, in particular the agro-industrial complex. China remains one of the capital's key trading partners, accounting for over 7% of Moscow's non—primary non-energy exports. Meat, chocolate, drinks, healthy food products, flour, oatmeal and other products made in Moscow are in demand," Garbuzov emphasized.

Thus, following the results of the international exhibition in Shanghai, a Moscow manufacturer of bread and flour confectionery products signed a contract for the supply of products to the Chinese market, and a manufacturer of cocoa, chocolate and sugary confectionery products from Zamoskvorechye signed a contract for the supply of Alenka chocolates.

The Mosprom Export support Center helps to promote Moscow products abroad. Specialists accompany entrepreneurs at all stages of entering the foreign market, from analytics to organizing B2B and B2G meetings with potential counterparties.

Also, as part of the International Cooperation and Export national project, Moscow businesses can benefit from a range of information, financial, insurance and logistical support measures. The My Export platform has been launched for entrepreneurs, where they can get free analytics, help in promoting products on international marketplaces, and online training.
