An exhibition of portraits of leading Russian scientists will open at SPIEF 2025

The authors of breakthrough scientific developments that bring the future closer have become the heroes of the fourth season of the Science in Faces exhibition. A gallery of portraits of leading Russian scientists will open at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June.

The opening ceremony will be attended by Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Nikita Marchenko, Chairman of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Fields of the Presidential Council for Science and Education, Head of the Kurchatov Synchrotron-Neutron Research Complex of the Kurchatov Institute.in, as well as the heroes of the exhibition. The exhibition will be held with the support of the Roscongress Foundation and the Coordinating Council for Youth in Science and Education of the Presidential Council for Science and Education.

As part of the opening ceremony, a collection of Russian high-tech clothing brand Putin Team Russia with the logo of the Decade of Science and Technology will be presented. The collaboration is aimed at popularizing science and technology through the creation and distribution of exclusive merchandise highlighting the importance of scientific development in Russia.

In the fourth season of the Science in Faces exhibition, the exhibition includes 23 portraits of laureates of key scientific prizes – the Prize of the President of the Russian Federation in the field of science and innovation for young scientists, the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology for young scientists, the prize of the Government of Moscow for young scientists, the scientific prizes of the BEAC and Challenge, and There were also participants in meetings with the President of the Russian Federation on the sidelines of the Congress of Young Scientists, winners of competitions of the Russian Science Foundation, and employees of leading Russian scientific organizations.

"The "Science in Faces" has been held for several years. Her characters work in various scientific fields and live in different cities. They are individual, but each of them has already achieved significant results. And today, these results are in demand by the country more than ever," said Denis Sekirinsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

The heroes of the project represent 14 regions of the country: Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Belgorod, Voronezh, Murmansk, Nizhny Novgorod, Sverdlovsk, Tomsk, Tyumen regions, the Republic of Dagestan, the Republic of Tatarstan, Krasnodar Territory, the federal territory of Sirius.

Among the exhibition's heroes: Natalia Cherkashina, Elena Korochkina, Vadim Popkov, Konstantin Titov, a specialist in military field surgery and the development of dual-use medical devices, Artem Nosov, a researcher of climate change in the Arctic, Irina Oberemok, director of scientific research Ilnaz Zaripov and Ildar Salakhov, specialists in the field of neurotechnology and sensory interfaces Boris Sagalaev, Arctic design researcher Svetlana Kravchuk, developer of generative artificial intelligence algorithms for image processing Alexander Korotin, neuroscientist, specialist in the field of aging biology Maria Vedunova and others.

Throughout the year, the exhibition will be presented in Moscow's public spaces: at VDNKh, Moscow Metro stations, and the Central Park of Culture and Recreation. Gorky, as well as on the sites of federal universities in the regions of Russia.

The exhibition will conclude its work at the jubilee V Congress of Young Scientists at Sirius University of Science and Technology on November 26-28, 2025. The heroes of the project will take part in the event. The Congress of Young Scientists is a key event of the Decade of Science and Technology, announced by President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in 2022 to unite the efforts of the professional community in relevant areas in various fields of activity requiring breakthrough solutions and to involve a young audience of students and scientists in Russian science. The Congress of Young Scientists is organized by the Roscongress Foundation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Coordinating Council for Youth in Science and Education of the Presidential Council for Science and Education.
