- Roscongress and Vedomosti have prepared a report on the opportunities of the global economy

The modern world is experiencing a deep crisis of unipolar globalization, which requires a revision of existing models of international cooperation. The report "The Future of the World Order - between Collision and Cooperation", prepared by the Roscongress Foundation and the Vedomosti business publication in collaboration with the VEB Institute for Research and Expertise, the Institute for National Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, presents key challenges and prospects for the formation of a new multipolar system.
The report notes that the previous model of globalization, which was built around a single center of power, has exhausted itself and generated systemic crises in the financial, trade and environmental spheres. Instead of the expected democratization, there is a loss of trust in national and international institutions, an increase in conflict and inequality. In the context of increasing turbulence, new economic and political blocs are being formed that can provide their participants with stability and protection from global shocks. Hybrid integration formats combining national sovereignty with delegation of individual functions to associations are considered the most promising.
The economic and demographic center of the world is shifting to the countries of Greater Eurasia, where more than half of the world's population is already concentrated. China, India, the countries of Southeast Asia and Africa are coming to the fore, which creates prerequisites for the formation of new international institutions and more equitable principles for regulating global development. The report highlights the exponential growth of trade restrictions, the fragmentation of global supply chains, and the declining role of the dollar in the global financial system. These processes increase instability and force countries to look for alternative settlement and cooperation mechanisms. The leading powers are increasing investments in research and development, forming competing technological blocks. At the same time, the world is facing slowing growth and an aging population, which requires new approaches to social policy, migration, and automation.
The report highlights Russia's role as one of the key participants in regional and global alliances. The country has unique natural resources, a developed transport and scientific infrastructure, as well as the experience of successful Eurasian integration. Russia is capable of becoming the architecture of a new model of cooperative development based on the principles of justice, solidarity and environmental responsibility.
Among the priority areas are the development of joint infrastructure projects and cross-border transport corridors; the creation of independent financial platforms and digital currencies; ensuring food and energy security and promoting initiatives in the field of high technology, space and collective security.
The authors of the report emphasize that in the next ten years, the key task for the new institutions will be to create conditions for the economic and political security of the participants. This will strengthen the prospects for sustainable development and build a more equitable world order. Russia is called upon to become one of the architects of a multipolar world of cooperation, where trust, partnership and respect for sovereignty will become the foundation of global progress.
Ignaty Pavlov, General Director of the Vedomosti newspaper: "In an era of fundamental transformation of the world order, the presented report offers not just an analysis, but a strategic view of the future. For the business community, which is the core of our audience, understanding these tectonic shifts is not a theory, but a practical necessity. Vedomosti's mission is to provide our readers with objective information and high—quality analytics that will help them navigate the new reality, make informed decisions and see opportunities where others see only risks."
Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum: "The world stands on the threshold of a new era where cooperation, justice and mutual respect will become the foundation of sustainable development. Russia, with its unique potential and integration experience, has a key role to play in shaping a multipolar world. We strive to unite countries on the principles of equal partnership in order to jointly address global challenges, from economic instability to environmental crises, creating conditions for the prosperity of all peoples."
Andrey Klepach, Chief Economist at VEB.Russian Federation, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the VEB Institute for Research and Expertise: "The growth of the largest developing countries has changed the landscape of the global economy, increased the demand for a more equitable distribution of income and improved global decision-making mechanisms."
