On July 19, Sovremennik will show the play "Enemies. A love story." The production is the pride of the theater. The play was directed by Evgeny Arie. The play is based on the novel by Nobel Prize winner Isaac Bashevis-Singer, and tells the story of a writer who is trying to make a choice between three women. The play raises questions of freedom, choice, and complex psychological conflicts.

Herman Broder — miraculously survived in a concentration camp, but lost his wife and children. Now he lives in New York, writes books and balances between three women, each of whom is his wife. Jadwiga is quiet and devoted, who saved his life. She bakes poppy seed bagels, takes care of him, and believes that their marriage is a reward for all their suffering. Masha is passionate, rebellious, giving him a sense of life. With her, he feels young, desirable, and, most importantly, alive again. Tamara is a ghost of the past, his first love, as it seemed to him, who died at the hands of the Nazis. Three women. Three worlds that shouldn't have met. But one day, a phone call to Brighton Beach will destroy Herman's delicate balance.

Starring Sergey Yushkevich. Alyona Babenko, Svetlana Ivanova and Evgenia Dmitrieva embody women on stage, each of whom is fighting for her place in Herman's life. The set design by Semyon Pastukh and the lighting by Damir Ismagilov turn the space into a maze of memories where reality and illusions intertwine.

July 19 at 19:00: Sovremennik Theater, Main Stage, Chistoprudny Boulevard, 19 c1.
