Almost all tourists from Russia who have declared their desire to leave the territory of Iran and Israel after the escalation of the conflict between the countries have already been taken out or will be sent to Russia in the coming days. Information about this was published on the official website of the Russian Union of Travel Industry on June 18.

According to Dmitry Arutyunov, CEO of Art-Tour, about 100 Russians were in Iran at the time of the closure of the airspace. Harutyunov stressed that the Islamic Republic is generally visited by a small number of tourists from Russia.

"First of all, there are basically few Russian tourists in Iran. Secondly, it's not the best season right now — people usually visit the country from autumn to spring," he said.

Elizaveta Timoshenko, an analyst at the PR service of the Russian Express company, said that the depth of sales of tours to Israel was small, and there were practically no clients of the tour operator in the country.

"The receiving partners are in touch with them, monitoring the developments. Refunds and transfers will be made in accordance with the procedure established by Russian law," she added.

On June 15, it was reported that about 2 thousand Russian citizens could not fly out of the UAE due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. Later, on June 17, a tourist from Voronezh said that Russians who were unable to leave the United Arab Emirates due to the temporary closure of Iran's airspace were being flown out of Dubai on one flight per day.
