The military personnel of the Dnepr group of forces used ground-based robotic off-road drones Shanghai and Frog in the area of the special military operation. This was announced on June 18 by a paratrooper officer with the call sign Min.

"[What is the special feature of] this robotic technology? What is its uniqueness? It has a tracked base. That is, a [robot] on a wheeled basis, for example, can even stand up somewhere over rough terrain. That is, due to these soft rubber tracks, it runs quite calmly where wheeled vehicles are already having problems. The swamps are shallow, up to half a meter, he takes it freely," said a soldier quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to him, this type of drone is used to deliver ammunition and supplies to the front line, evacuate the wounded and perform combat missions.

"He (the robot. — Ed.) free 200 kg [beret]. That is, two wounded people can be safely taken and safely transported. Either load the tank (ammunition — Ed.), or load it with logistical support," Min said.

The fighter stressed that the Dnepr group of troops has a sufficient amount of ground-based drone data.

On March 5, military expert Dmitry Kornev reported that the developers of the Piranha-10 FPV drone, which destroyed the first Abrams tank in the special operation zone, had created a new reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the Sova-13. The new drone will allow Russian military personnel to conduct reconnaissance for over an hour and a half with high-quality video, the ability to hover and hold positions.
