U.S. Senate postpones discussion of sanctions against Russia

The US Senate postponed the discussion of sanctions against Russia due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East. This was reported on June 18 by Semafor.
"The situation with Iran is changing now... <...> Iran is in the spotlight," Senator Lindsey Graham, the author of the bill on sanctions against Russia, told the publication (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring).
At the same time, the politician clarified that he had not at all forgotten about the Ukrainian conflict amid the escalation in the Middle East. As Semafor points out, sanctions against Russia are likely to be considered in July.
Bloomberg, citing a source, reported on June 17 that the leaders of the G7 countries were disappointed by US President Donald Trump's refusal to tighten sanctions against Russia. It is clarified that the head of the White House has repeatedly repeated his objections to this issue.
