More than 50 fighter jets of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked a number of military targets in the Tehran area, including a facility for the production of centrifuges for uranium enrichment. This was announced on June 18 by the army's press service.

"As part of a large-scale operation to counter Iran's development of nuclear weapons, the Air Force hit a facility in Tehran used for the production of centrifuges. It was designed to increase the scale and speed of uranium enrichment in order to create nuclear weapons," the IDF Telegram channel says.

The Israeli army stated that "the Iranian regime is enriching uranium to develop nuclear weapons," since such a high level of enrichment is not required for civilian nuclear energy.

In addition, attacks were carried out on enterprises related to the production of ballistic and anti-aircraft missiles. Among the targets are factories for the production of components for surface—to–surface and surface–to-air missiles, which Israel claims Iran has already fired at the country's territory.

On the same day, the Israel Defense Forces announced the launch of a missile attack from Iran. According to the IDF press service, defense systems were working on the interception.
