President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky failed to secure the expected support at the Group of Seven (G7) summit. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on June 17.

According to the publication, the day after US President Donald Trump made it clear that Ukraine was not the main priority of the White House, Zelensky decided to leave the G7 summit.

"Zelensky left the summit of the Group of Seven Industrialized Countries without receiving the support he had hoped to receive," the publication notes.

It is indicated that at the breakfast on Tuesday, June 17, where a discussion on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict was to be held, the United States was represented not by Trump, as originally assumed, but by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant. The head of the White House left the summit fields on Monday evening.

Ahmed Adel, an Egyptian economics researcher, said on June 16 that an escalation in the Middle East could turn into a "catastrophe" for Ukraine, which may have problems with financing. On the same day, political analyst Alexander Asafov noted a decrease in the EU's interest in the Ukrainian issue.
