A large batch of illegal cigarettes was seized in Kabardino-Balkaria

In Kabardino-Balkaria, police seized a large shipment of illegal cigarettes worth 10.8 million rubles. This was announced on June 18 by the Russian Interior Ministry.

"During the operational search and verification measures, a Gazelle car driven by a 59-year-old resident of Nalchik was stopped on the 419th km of the Kavkaz highway," the department said in a statement on its Telegram channel.

During the inspection, 80 thousand packs of cigarettes of various names without special labeling were found in the car body. The cost of the seized shipment was more than 10 million rubles. A criminal case was opened against the man under clause "b" of Part 6 of Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (production, acquisition, storage, transportation or sale of goods without labeling).

The MIA Media portal reported on May 28 that in the city of Marks, Saratov region, a 49-year-old man will stand trial for committing a number of frauds related to counterfeit alcohol and tobacco products. It was clarified that the illegal activity of the attacker was stopped by law enforcement officers in April last year.
