It is planned to create memorials in Russia and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (KDNR) in memory of the Korean soldiers who fell during the liberation of the territory of the Russian Federation. This was announced on June 17 by the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu.

"The heads of our states decided to perpetuate the feat of the soldiers of the Korean People's Army who took part in the fighting. Specifically, we are talking about the opening of memorials in Russia and the DPRK in memory of the Korean soldiers who fell in the battles for the liberation of Russian territory," TASS quoted Shoigu as saying.

According to the secretary, the relevant decision was made jointly with the leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un.

On June 17, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation announced that the DPRK, after Russia's assistance in liberating the Kursk region from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), would send 1,000 sappers to the region to assist in demining the territory.
