- Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces told about the liberation of the villages of Alekseevka and Zelyony Kut in the DPR

On June 18, Russian servicemen of the Center group of forces told Izvestia about the liberation of the settlements of Alekseevka and Zelyony Kut in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
"We moved out at about 20:30-21:00 due to the very dullness, at a certain point we put on a poncho, that is, you put on a poncho and you won't see a person in the thermal imager. <...> We used to walk for three or four hours. It's all on foot. If you crawl, then the poncho will come off and you will be visible," said Nikita Galik, commander of the 114th OMSBR company of the Center group of forces.
Soldiers of the 114th brigade of the Center group of forces, two at a time, secretly entered enemy positions in Alekseevka in order not to give the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) a chance. The village of Alekseevka, covered from the south by the river, was a powerful stronghold: trenches, dugouts, firing points were in every house, as well as powerful air cover. The stormtroopers, who had gained a foothold on the outskirts, had to fight on two fronts — to clear house after house and fight off kamikaze drones, said Izvestia correspondent Valentin Trushnin.
"You know, it's a mess, it's flying from all sides, you don't understand what you have to hide from anymore. Anyway, it's not like we're running around with a machine gun all day. We went to the support area, we cleared it, we're waiting for the next group, let's say. No one saw us by the birds, which means it's good. And if they saw it, Baba Yaga arrives and the house is being dismantled," said Alexander Piyanzin, commander of the assault squad of the 114th Infantry Brigade of the Center group of forces.
Russian Armed Forces soldiers reinforced tanks with sheet metal called "dreadlocks." As practice has shown, they are very effective. Both five and eight pieces of FPV drones flew in, but the design withstood everything, said Yevgeny Sukhanov, commander of the tank company of the 114th OMSBr of the Center group of forces.
"The new realities, when ten or twenty FPV drones arrive on one car, require some new solutions. So the tankers came up with such a thing — they saw steel cables, they get such "dreadlocks"...> How it works: the FPV drone is hitting it with screws, its trajectory is off and the cumulative jet is not going where the operator was aiming," said Trushnin.
He also stressed that after liberating Alekseevka, the units of the Center group of forces, without stopping, immediately went on and took control of the village of Zelyony Kut. The enemy made several attempts to recapture the lost positions and brought in reinforcements. But all counterattacks were unsuccessful.
On June 17, the Ministry of Defense reported that calculations of the Uragan multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of the 36th Combined arms army of the Vostok group of forces destroyed the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the village of Voskresensk in the DPR. The ministry noted that the enemy's positions were discovered by intelligence.
