A flash of maximum power class X was recorded in the Sun. This was announced on June 18 at the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

"A high-level X flare has been registered on the Sun. The preliminary score of the event is X1.2," the publication says.

It is specified that the maximum level of the outbreak was observed at 00:49 Moscow time. The explosion occurred in the same active area where two large June outbreaks were observed on June 15 and 16. The previous flare of the highest score was observed on the Sun on May 25.

On June 15, scientists recorded an M8.5 class flare on the Sun. According to the laboratory, the epicenter of the explosion is located in active region No. 4114. Presumably, this outbreak will affect planet Earth.
