Reuters reported on the withdrawal of US troops from two military bases in Syria.

American soldiers have left two military bases located in northeastern Syria. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 17.
"American troops have left two more bases in northeastern Syria," the newspaper said.
It is clarified that the relevant actions on the American side have caused concern among the Kurdish forces due to the fact that the militants of the Islamic State group (ISIL, IS, a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) have become more active in the area.
According to the agency, the Al-Wazir and Tel Baydar bases, which were "recently abandoned" by US military personnel, are now under the protection of small Kurdish units.
Mazlum Abdi, commander of the Democratic Syrian Forces, in turn, noted that several hundred American troops would not be enough to contain the IS militants.
"The threat of the Islamic State has increased significantly recently. But that's the plan of the American military. We have known about this for a long time," he said in an interview with the publication.
The Al Arabiya TV channel reported on June 3 that the United States had withdrawn about 500 troops from Syria, as well as abandoned three military bases. Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin, in turn, said that the number of American troops in Syria has decreased by a quarter.
