The Russian Embassy will resume operations in the Togolese Republic in 2025.

The Russian government has decided to reopen the Russian Embassy in the Togolese Republic in 2025. This is stated in the order published on June 17 on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"To accept the proposal of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, agreed with the interested federal authorities and the Togolese side, to resume the activities of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Togolese Republic (the city of Lomé) in 2025," the document says.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been instructed to establish the staffing of the Embassy and approve its staffing table.
The order also states that the costs of resuming the activities and maintenance of the diplomatic mission will be carried out at the expense and within the budget appropriations provided for by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in the federal budget for the relevant financial year and planning period.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on April 3 that the Russian Embassy in Niger would "definitely" open this year. He noted that he was very pleased to have the opportunity to hold bilateral talks on the sidelines of the first-ever meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and the Alliance of Sahel States (AHS). According to Lavrov, Moscow is satisfied with the development of its bilateral relations with Niamey.
