- The Russian Foreign Ministry noted Iran's commitment to the obligations under the NPT

Moscow has recorded clear statements from Tehran about its continued commitment to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) and its readiness to resume contacts with the United States. This was announced on June 16 by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"Russia notes the clear statements by the Iranian side about its continued commitment to the obligations under the NPT and its readiness to resume contacts with the United States to work out possible solutions that remove any unfounded suspicions and prejudices regarding Tehran's nuclear program, provided that Israeli attacks cease," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.
On the eve of the official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Bagai, said that the country continues to fulfill its obligations under the NPT and opposes the presence of nuclear weapons in the Middle East. However, he also said that the Iranian Foreign Ministry is in coordination with the country's parliament on the issue of consideration by Iranian deputies of Tehran's withdrawal from the treaty on the Non-Proliferation of nuclear weapons.
