Canada will provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth two billion Canadian dollars ($1.5 billion) and a loan of 2.3 billion Canadian dollars ($1.7 billion). This was stated on June 17 by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during a meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky on the sidelines of the G7 summit.

"We are providing additional military assistance — drones, helicopters, more ammunition, more than 2 billion [Canadian] dollars of aid directly to Ukraine," he told reporters.

As noted by "Gazeta.Ru", the prime minister did not disclose the exact composition of the military aid package and the timing of its delivery. Carney added that Ottawa will allocate the mentioned financial tranche in the amount of 2.3 billion Canadian dollars to Kiev from frozen Russian assets.

The head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, said on June 13 that the European Union (EU) had transferred to Ukraine the next tranche of €1 billion in macro-financial assistance under the current program. Von der Leyen also said that since the beginning of the special military operation, EU countries have provided support to Ukraine in the amount of € 150 billion.
