The bats have woken up in Moscow. This was announced on Tuesday, June 17, according to the website of the Moscow City Hall.

"These representatives of the bat squad leave their winter shelters and become active in the evening and at night. Experts from the Moscow Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection remind that they do not attack people, so you should not be afraid of them," the message says.

The capital is home to 10 species of bats, among which the bicolor leather, brown earflaps and forest bats are listed in the Red Book, the website says. kp.ru . These animals live in attics, balconies, tree hollows and abandoned buildings. They navigate with the help of echolocation, and hunt flying insects by regulating their numbers, writes 360.ru .

Sometimes, due to temperature fluctuations, bats can fly into houses. In such cases, it is recommended to close the door, open the window and let the animal fly out. If this does not happen, wait until it calms down, carefully cover it with a cloth and release it, or contact specialists, the Moscow City News agency reports.
