The Israeli Ministry of Tourism has started collecting applications online from foreign tourists who are in the country and want to leave it as soon as possible amid the escalating conflict with Iran. This was announced on June 17 by the press service of the department.
"In light of the current security situation, the Ministry of Tourism has received a request to collect contact information from tourists wishing to leave the country by air and coordinate their departure from Israel as soon as possible with relevant authorities," the ministry told TASS.
It is noted that an online form has been created for this purpose, which tourists can fill out. There was no specific information about the start of evacuation flights.
On June 16, the Russian Embassy in Cairo reported that Russian tourists staying in Israel could return to Russia via Egypt. The diplomatic mission clarified that flights are operated from Sharm el-Sheikh airport and Cairo.
Israel struck Iran on June 13 and declared a state of emergency. In this regard, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the purpose of the military operation is to strike at Iran's nuclear infrastructure. This was followed by a wave of retaliatory strikes by Iran.
