The doctor urged to stop using headphones in the summer

Otolaryngologist, PhD Lyudmila Elizarova called for the complete abandonment of the use of headphones.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, June 17, she explained that headphones provoke irritation of the inner ear mucosa, which can make you completely deaf.
"The inner ear is very vulnerable, so the further away the sound, the better," she noted.
According to the doctor, it is better to use large headphones that affect the outer ear and do not pass inside. The otolaryngologist explained that the ear is not designed to have anything inserted into it. This can lead to irritation, inflammation, viral and fungal infections, the formation of boils and sulfur plugs, which, when accumulated, turn into an infection and require treatment.
If you do not want to give up headphones, you should constantly treat them with an antiseptic, but this will not be a panacea.

In January, otorhinolaryngologist Dmitry Shubin stated that it is recommended to use plug—in headphones for no more than one and a half hours a day, and overhead headphones for up to three hours. At the same time, the volume should not exceed 50% of the maximum, notes Pravda.Ru .
At the same time, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) revealed a cartel of headphone sellers on marketplaces. The entrepreneurs entered into an agreement to set and maintain prices and eliminate competitors.
In September, otolaryngologist Alexey Koshelev, in an interview with NSN, stated that the use of in-ear headphones could not provoke the development of infectious diseases or lead to hearing loss. He noted that there is no evidence that headphones cause infectious diseases, and this issue is not being seriously considered. However, it is important to maintain hygiene, as is the case with other personal items.
