Pascual left the post of head coach of Zenit basketball club


Zenit St. Petersburg Basketball Club announced the departure of Spanish specialist Javier Pascual from the post of head coach of the team. The corresponding statement was published on the club's official website on June 17.
"The head coach of the blue-white-blues, Chavi Pascual, is leaving the club at the end of his contract. <...> Zenit Basketball Club thanks Chavi Pascual for these five years and his outstanding contribution to the development of the club. It is reported that Pascual holds the club's record for the number of matches played as head coach. In addition, the Spanish specialist was twice recognized as coach of the year.
Zenit, under the leadership of the 52-year-old Spaniard, became the champion of the VTB United League, twice the winner of the VTB United League Super Cup and the Russian Cup, adds Sport-Express.
On June 9, the Moscow Basketball Club (BC) CSKA beat Zenit from St. Petersburg and became the champion of the VTB United League for the 12th time. CSKA won the series 4-2.
