In the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, 59 Palestinians were killed and 221 injured as a result of Israeli tank fire on a crowd of people at a humanitarian aid station. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 17.

"As a result of the incident, at least 59 people were killed and 221 injured, at least 20 of them are in critical condition," the publication said.

It is reported that Israeli tanks fired at least two shells at a crowd of thousands who were trying to get help from trucks. The agency noted that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has already acknowledged the shelling and said it has launched an investigation into the incident.

"The IDF is aware of several wounded as a result of the fire after the crowd approached. The details of the incident are under review," the Israeli army said in a statement.

In addition, about 14 people were killed in attacks in another area of the semi-enclave, bringing the total death toll to at least 73 people.

Al Jazeera TV channel reported on June 10 that more than 70 people were killed in an IDF attack on the Gaza Strip. It was noted that the Israeli military opened fire on people who were crowding in search of food at US aid centers.
