A resident of Khabarovsk was convicted for the death of a child in a fire

In Khabarovsk, a court sentenced a woman whose five-year-old daughter died as a result of a fire. The mother was found guilty of causing death by negligence.
According to the investigation, from September 2024 to January 2025, a woman born in 1999 repeatedly kept a child locked in an apartment. On January 29, a fire broke out in the house, IA AmurMedia writes. The criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code ("Causing death by negligence") and Article 125 of the Criminal Code ("Leaving in danger").
The court sentenced the woman to correctional labor for a period of 1 year and 2 months withholding 10% of income in favor of the state.
In Krasnoyarsk in February, a man was convicted of setting a fire by negligence in an abandoned wooden house. He dropped his cigarette when everyone went to bed after drinking alcohol. Four people died.
