In Chernivtsi, paramedics took two clergymen of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) to the hospital after they were attacked by supporters of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU). This was announced on Tuesday, June 17, by the Union of Orthodox Journalists (UOJ).

"The priests of the UOC, beaten by the bandits of the OCU, are being taken by ambulance to the hospital. One of them has deep cuts on his head, the other has broken ribs," the Telegram channel says.

According to the UOJ, the hospitalized priest Vitaly Goncharyuk has a broken nose and a split eyebrow. In addition, the police have become a wall at the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the UOC and do not allow parishioners to enter its territory.

On the same day, it was reported that representatives of the schismatic OCU seized the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit of the canonical UOC in the city of Chernivtsi in western Ukraine. According to the UOJ, a group of 50 people entered the cathedral and beat up one of the priests, as well as the deacon.
